Frequently asked questions

What we love about Sicily is that it feels like  you are going back in time.  Prices of everything are akin to that of the 70's in America.   Most businesses don't have websites, only phone numbers or directions. Paperwork is done by hand using carbon copies, computers are just starting to make their presence.   All the food is organic, no pesticides are used.   All the meat is unvaccinated. Meaning you can eat anything and not get the residual effects of bloating or inflammation.   The wheat has no glyphosate, meaning you can eat all the pizza pasta you want and feel good afterwards.    

Sicily's rich history spans millennia, shaped by its central Mediterranean location, making it coveted prize for numerous civilizations including, Phoenicians,  Vikings, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, and Spanish, each leaving their deep imprints on its unique culture, art and architecture.   There is endless history to absorb, view and taste.   Its a mix of ancient and modern.  And the clothing shopping is fantastic.   Who doesn't love "made in Italy".

What is the address of Casa Bea?  

Casa Bea is located in the country side in between the towns of Trabia and Caccamo.

How far away is the house from the Airport in Palermo?  

The Palermo airport known as The Falcone Borcellino Airport (PMO) is an hour away from the house.  If you fly to Catania expect a 3 hour drive to the house, so we highly suggest you fly into the Palermo Airport or PMO. 

How are the roads leading to the house?  

This is a good question and one that changes with the work going on to improve the dirt roads.   Yes the dirt roads sometimes can be bumpy.  But certainly not impassible.   There is funding right now and plans in motion of making all these dirt roads into tarmac.  We keep our fingers crossed.  

Renting a car with adequate clearance helps.   All wheel drive or an SUV also helps one feel more confident. 

Is there adequate Wi-Fi?   

 Yes we recently installed Star link so the whole property has great Wi-Fi. It has 300 MBS down and 120 MBS up.  What that means is that you have unlimited Wi-Fi for all your phones, laptop and work needs and the use of the projector to watch movies and shows.  

How many bedrooms are in the whole house and grounds?   

There are 6 bedrooms in total.  And 4 bathrooms in total.   

Can I rent just the main house?  

Yes if you want to just stay in the main house with 4 bedrooms this is possible, just inquire when you email Casabeachy33@gmail.com

Is the pool fresh water or salt water?  

The Pool has been recently switched over to salt water pool, making it more natural and uses way less chlorine.  

How stocked is the kitchen?  

The Kitchen is well stocked, with all the pots and pans you will need and use, a very good coffee maker, coffee grinder, juicer, separate beverage and wine fridge.  Fridge and freezer, dishwasher and lots of plates in various sizes and patterns.  An island with a stove top and stove with convection oven and an outdoor cooking area for your meats and sausage.   Ample glasses in all sizes.  

How many does the living room and dining room seat?   

The dining room has 8 chairs around a round marble table.   The living room has two couches, one has wheels on it so that it can be moved when you watch a movie on the projector.  Plus there are two club chairs and two stools that sit under the island. It's a big family style room for cooking together, hanging out, eating and watching movies.

What TV's do you have?  

In the great room we have Projector with an apple TV that has all the platforms for watching movies and shows.  This links up to our Buchardt speaker that are Bluetooth so the sound is great.  These speaker can also be used via Bluetooth to listen to any platform of music.  There are smart TV's in both the Garden room and La Grotta bedroom suites. 

Can you describe the bathrooms?   

There are 4 bathrooms on the property.   2 in the main house, one on each floor with toilets, bidet's, sink's and showers.   In the detached  building The Garden Room has a shower, toilet and a sink.  La Grotta has a toilet, sink and tub with a shower.   There is also a hot water shower near the deep plunge pool.  

How much of the exterior spaces are private?  

You will have the whole house and grounds at your disposal.   There are ample places to hang out in the shade under a pergola with a large sectional couch, and another outdoor couch near the BBQ area.   6 lounger's sit around the pool area. Plus seating outside of the Garden room and La Grotta suites.    There is also a large marble dining table under the pergola that seats 6 people.  

Is there a washing machine for laundry?  

Yes we have a large capacity washing machine in the downstairs bathroom   Italy doesn't have dryers yet, so on the terrace upstairs are two clothes lines to hang your laundry.  Because Sicily is dry and arid your wash on a sunny day can dry in an hour.   Sheets take way less time, sometimes as little as 15 mins.   Jeans and pants are longer.  

Is there A/C?  

We have several AC mini splits that cover the entire house and each detached suite also has it own AC.   We the owners prefer air, and there are screens for every door way, so that you can simply open the doors and fresh air will abound in the whole house.   We only ask that you use the locking device on the doors if you open them.  Or a rock that is left near by.  Sometimes the winds pipe up rather quickly, causing the doors to slam, occasionally a glass window has broken.  So please take precaution when using the glass doors if its a windy day. 

Can we use the firewood for the BBQ and fireplace and woodstove?  

Yes there is ample wood to use for all of these uses.   We only ask to use it in moderation as the owner Bill takes a lot of time, pruning the olive trees to accumulate the wood.  The wood is piled up on behind the milk glass on the opposite side of the dining room table outside.  

Where are the sheets for the beds?  

We have newly organized the sheet sets for each room to avoid confusion.  Now they sit under each bed in soft storage bins easily accessible.  We try to color coordinate the sheets for each room based on the color of the room and the bed size.  We have probably 5 sets for each room.   This free's up the dressers so you can unpack out of your suitcase.  
The only exception to this is the Salon bedroom, because the bed is from Venice and dated 1920  and low to the tile floor.  These sheets are in the foyer in the large dresser and there are 3 drawers with ample sheet sets.    There is also a down colored comforter for each room and a cotton kantha  patterned quilt for each room.  Whether it's hot or cold you're covered. 

Are there extra towels?  

Yes all the extra towels are in the downstairs bathroom in the wooden cabinet.   There are Turkish cotton and linen towels hanging in the front door foyer on hooks for the pool area.  

Are there exterior lights?   

Yes next to the front door are switches that light up the front door area, around the front under the 33 number hanging on the house is the switch for the olive tree in front that will light up the stairs going down to the Grotta apartment.  There is also a switch down the stairs to turn off & on .   There are also light a light switch just above the projector table in the kitchen area, the very first switch to your left if you click it 3 times this will light up all the exterior lights around the terrace near the pergola.   Just outside the living room glass doors to your left is also another exterior switch that will light up the pool and the pool area.   And in the garden room is a switch on the wall near the dresser that will light up the Garden exterior.    And lastly by the dining room table there are switches for the interior and one is for the BBQ area outside.  

Is the home safe for small children and babies?   

There is a crib in the hallway armoire and also a  high chair that can attach to the dining room tables.  Children need to be supervised inside and outside as the pool area and the terraces are open. 

Do you allow pets?  Yes we allow dogs.   

Do you have any board games or puzzles?   

Currently we do not.   Only cards in a drawer in the kitchen.  

How close is the nearest supermarket?   

Trabia  There are several supermarkets nearby.   Conad is in Trabia is new so I don't have a link for it as it just opened in Decemeber 2025, it is  just over the hill, has a good deli with vegetables and fruit, everything you would need quickly and easily close to home.    

Termini  Immerse    Sisa de Malfa  is our favorite as it has the best deli section. https://share.google/nVGmq2hxM2iT6coSh
